Day 01: The Southern Pearl of Bali & Uluwatu Tour
Upon arrival at Ngurah Rai airport Bali, you will be met by our representative in Bali. Start your journey into this Hindu island kingdom by driving past the massive Gatotkacha & the Bheema statues at centre roundabouts in the city. These great heroes from the Mahabharata are guardians of the city maintaining the balance and protection of the island.
Lunch at local restaurant. After lunch visit GWK, Mandala Garuda Wisnu Kencana, (GWK) is a private cultural park on the Bukit Badung at the southern end of the island of Bali in Indonesia. Bukit is a limestone plateau with Uluwatu to the west and Nusa Dua to the east. It is devoted to the Hindu god Vishnu, and his mount, Garuda, the mythical bird who is his companion. The Statue depicts Vishnu riding the Garuda. Currently, the statue of Vishnu is 23 m high, and will attain 146 meters when completed will be the largest statue in the world.
Proceed to Padang-Padang & Padang Suluban Beach (Blue Point), Be amazed by the beauty of white sand on this beautiful beach. This beach has gained recent importance due to filming of “ Eat, Pray, Love. And is also getting popular as Julia Robert beach. Coral cliffs along the beach present a beautiful attraction along with its white sands, ideal for games, beach volleyball and numerous activities. Proceed to Uluwatu Temple. Uluwatu Temple (Pura Uluwatu) is one of Bali's nine key directional temples. Though a small temple was claimed to have existed beforehand, the structure was significantly expanded by a Javanese sage, Empu Kuturan in the 11th Century.
Another sage from East Java, Dang Hyang Nirartha is credited for constructing the padmasana shrines and is claimed to have attained Moksha here. Even more remarkable than the temple itself is its location, perched on a steep cliff 70 metres above the roaring Indian ocean waves. There are more steep headlands on either side and sunsets over Uluwatu are a sight to behold. After tour, you will transfer to hotel for check in.
